Fare thee well love, Fare thee well love
Far away, you must go
Take my heart love, Take my heart love
We will never meet, again no more

Far across love, Far across love
O'er the mountains and country wide
Take my heart love, Take my heart love
No one knows, the tears I've cried

So I'll drink today love, I'll sing to you love
In paupers glory my time I'll bide
No home or ties love, a restless rover
If I can't have you, by my side

-- The Rankin Family, "Fare Thee Well Love"

-------------------------------------

Just a small bit of self-pity art, drawn in under an hour with black conte and charcoal. No preliminary sketches, and no erasing done. Sometimes you make mistakes and you just have to learn to draw around them.

I'll feel better after sleeping. =) G'night!

This is amazing! So jealous. lol

I have a question about charcoal though, I've been experimenting with it and it's really messy is there anything I can spray on it to make it not get all over the place when my drawing is finished?
:iconrheall:
You can buy something called "fixative" at most art stores. It's an invisible spray that you spray over your drawing when you're finished. You usually put on a couple coats just to ensure even coverage. Once it's dry, it greatly reduces chances of smudging, if it doesn't stop it altogether. A can of fixative usually runs about $14.99 CAD or something like that. You can also buy workable fixative, which allows you to continue working on a drawing even after spraying it. Once fixative is applied, I've found, at least with my own drawings, it's pretty much impossible to tell it's there. I don't even know how it works, hehe!

Hope that helps. =) And thank you!

Just an amendment; I picked up a can of fixative for just under $7. My original estimate was a little exaggerated. ^^l

Not only do I really truly love the drawn image, but what you did with the photo just adds so much to the meaning of the piece. EXCELLENT art!
