So this was one of the poses I considered using on my uber special secret project that has already taken over a year so far to do that only people on my LJ and one other person on DA knows about.

I happened to sketch out a much more interesting pose that worked better for the character, so I went with that one instead.

I sketched this directly into Photoshop nearly a year ago (holy crap!!

) using one of those default textured chalk brushes to block out the vague horse-y form. Then I went in with a smaller version of that brush to bring out more of the details, then went over it with the boring round hard-edged brush to smooth it out and add more detail. One layer. Very boring.

Obviously, I didn't get very far before I decided I didn't like it. Done without references, which explains a lot, but I still like it for some reason... if I ever feel insane enough to try another digital picture like this from scratch I might think about using it for something. And next time I'll actually use references. Sheesh.

Random, unfinished, photoshop CS sketch. Everyone loves those, right? Right?! I wish I had something else to offer right now...
