Man, that brings back memories!! Though looking at that, and remembering that I first joined back in 200-freaking-3 makes me feel like such an old lady!

Anyway... I am completely bogged down with school after being very sick with the flu for two weeks and missing a tonne of exams and assignments, so I am on hiatus until I can find time to breathe. Still checking the site every once in a while, but yeah... I hope to get back to work on the Fan Site for Mia soon, as well as some artwork too!

Why did you join this site?

I joined DA in August of 2003 (back when the galleries were known as "indy art" and you could choose between the "old" and "new" layout skins). I was actually on Elfwood at the time, and was getting increasingly fed up with the moderation system. I love how people complain about DA's submission system taking too long... you'll never know until you've had to wait a whole month for a submission to go through only to have it rejected because of a silly technicality!

Still, I have a fond place in my heart for Elfwood. Saw for the first time many of my favourite artists there, and even became friends with them later. So awesome.


What does your user name have to do with you? Is it a combination of your favourite things, or a character of yours?

Rheall was a name I made up one day for an IRC chatroom, round about 2001/2002 or so. It was something that wasn't some generalized body part (my online handle up until then had been "WolfEyes"), and was unique enough that it hadn't been taken by a bazillion people already.


What is your current icon of?

It's of Creature, my funny white dog thing with horns, drawn by ~robinii. I love it so.


How many watchers do you have and how many people are you currently watching?

I watch 303 people and 401 people watch me. Though less than 100 of those are still active, I'd guess.


Do you have more than one account?

Nope, I've never made a second account on DA. Funny, you think I would have by now for some reason... I do have a sketch blog, though, where I upload more things than I do here. You can see that at this link: [link]

I fave, mostly. I know, I should be shot, I suppose. I try not to comment unless I have something useful to say, and usually I'm either too tired or braindead to come up with anything, or I don't have enough time to think up a great comment. I'd rather say something thoughtful than just "I like it!"


What do you typically post on deviantart?

Artwork, if it's anything. Usually sketches, either fantasy or animal related.


Do you participate in clubs or contests here on DA?

Not really anymore. I used to try, but either I didn't draw enough of the certain kind of art for that club to really get anything out of it, or I didn't have the time or the conviction to actually enter any contests or keep up with it. Bad Heather.

You mean I have to choose?? Out of all the favourites I've had after being here for six years?? Argh, I'll just choose a random one...

What are the things you wish you could draw better?

Environments. Definitely. Backgrounds, objects, props, weather, plants... I wish I could paint better, too. I do so many sketches, but finishing things and colouring them and spending more time than an hour on a drawing is something I find very difficult to do.


Are you a subscriber?

Yes. With mah own pocket money, too!


How many hours a day do you spend on DA?

Probably no more than an hour, at most, probably less if you were going to average it out. Today is a little more, obviously, since I'm doing this meme... usually I only have barely enough time to check my messages, then I have to run off again.


Are you a fast, slow, or medium typer?

I'd say fast, but since there are many people out there who type much faster than me, I probably only count as "medium".

What is the most annoying thing people ask you?

Well, people don't really ask me much of anything, so I couldn't say.


What is the most annoying comment you get?

Probably the comments on really old drawings that for some crazy reason still draw in a dozen favourites a month while my newer stuff is ignored; and then they comment on those really old drawings and give critiques and say things like "You're doing good, keep up the great work!" And I kind of sputter and say "Bwuh... this was drawn in 2005??"

I know they mean well, and I do appreciate it, I'm just really baffled. Where do they keep coming from?? How do they find those ancient things??? I'd hardly think it's the best example of my work...


What inspires you?

Music does a huge part. Movie soundtracks, usually orchestral scores. Things like the Plunkett & Macleane soundtrack, or Narnia:LWW, LotR, etc... also musicals. Artwork from my favourite artists, nature, the sky and cool breezes, roleplaying games, excellent animation, beautiful and compelling stories...


Do you use any traditional media?

I do all my sketching with pencil on paper because the lack of friction on a tablet weirds me out. Other than that, and perhaps conte, ink and etc., I probably do everything else digitally.


Do you associate people online with their icons?

Not usually. I know their usernames better.


Have you ever suggested a Daily Deviation?

I have, and I think the guy himself was given a deviation, though not the one I suggested... and also once I suggested someone, and a month later they were featured with thanks to someone else for the suggestion... hehe! Ah well. Usually nothing comes of my suggestions.


Everyone has considered leaving DA once or twice. Have you? Why?

Yes, though not in the way you might think. I stopped spending as much obsessive time on here because I realised it was seriously harming my feeling of self-worth. I became overly critical and stopped having fun with my artwork. Once I stepped back from here, and all the comments and faves and DD's and such, I started to love my artwork again.

That doesn't mean I've left. DeviantART is great for communicating and for keeping up with my favourite artists. I just don't go crazy about it anymore.

Hey guys. Long time no see?

Sorry for my absence... I've been gone for about two weeks now. I feel really bad about that... my little "break" from the Mia Fan Site project turned into an extended vacation. The reason? My life went all to hell for a little while, hehe! It's still really hectic and I have NO idea when I'll have the free time to get back on any of my fun projects again, but here's a bit of a rundown about what's been going on with me.

At the beginning of the week two weeks ago I started feeling rather sick. Intense headaches, stuffed up/runny nose, I was weak and shaky, my throat was sore. I went to school until Tuesday, where I decided half way through nothing was worth being out and about when I felt this terrible. So I went home half way through the day and when I got there I found out that in the heavy rains that day the basement suite I've been living in with two other roommates had flooded.

Not a nice thing to come home to, hehe! Anyway, those are the main reasons for my absence; I was sick for a week, and I had to go live with a friend who didn't have internet at his new apartment until the rooms were fixed and the carpets replaced. I only just got moved back in fully yesterday night.

On top of all this I've been missing school and I've been missing work thanks to being sick, so I'm rather behind with a lot of stuff. Trying to stay up to speed is about all I can do. I'm hoping things will calm down a little after this, but I'm not going to keep my hopes up too high.

Anyway, again I'm sorry for seemingly "abandoning" the Fan Site project, I haven't, really! I'm really excited to work on it again, but I just have to find the time. Please be patient with me.

As far as art goes... haven't had much time for sketching either, hehe! But we'll see what happens. My brain has been turning continually art-ward for a while now, it's only so long until I do something about.

Hey, guys! Right, so this is going to seem COMPLETELY out of nowhere, strange, and entirely stupid as all hell...

But I'm going to need some volunteers. Some helpers, if you will.

Volunteers and helpers who are friends or fans of *Losmios.

Because... *sigh* I'm so going to hell for this... I need help in getting content for teh Ultimate Mia Fansite on teh Wholz Entire Intarwebs.

I don't want to give too much away... it'll be super silly, super stupid, and super ugly, filled with tonnes of scary animated gifs (think unicorns pooping sparkling rainbows and things like that) and poor grammar and bad colour combinations. It will have pages where you can post scary fan art for her, and fan poetry as well (I'm thinking in the future of having a limerick or haiku contest ), as well as a Shrine to Ataraxe.

Anyway, like I said, I need help with creating content for it. I need to head to work soon, so I don't have long to describe it... but I'm at work and school most of the time, and only have time to do this sort of thing when I get home and have time off from homework/chores/living. I got the majority of the website layout done today, but like I said, I need Losmios Soldiers to help me go around and collect things like:

- Fan Artwork (the sillier the better!)
- Testimonials (Also, the sillier/stupider the better!)
- Ideas for other areas of the "shrine/church"
- More bad graphics/banner images (I need a new banner image, possibly a really bad collage of Mia's art with some ugly header text over it)
- Screenshots of silly comments Mia has given, text convos, shout board posts, etc. (but please, just the silly parts, not the revealing/private parts; this is all in fun remember!)
- And anything else you can possibly think of!

Think of all those old fan sites that popped up for actors like Orlando Bloom when the LotR movies were popular. Think of the terrible wallpapers that were made, the fan gushing, the fan fiction, the poetry, the adoration, all the crazy crap that happened; and let's make a super silly analogue for Mia.

Is there anyone who wants to help me? I'm also looking for someone who can draw helpers from UotV; I haven't been there for years, so having someone to go and grab some fun stuff/people from there would be awesome.

(And don't worry; I have full permission to do this project from Mia herself. All the while I was making this super terrible website layout we were laughing our asses off together!)

So, any volunteers? If you'd like to, comment here or send me a note, and I'll either come up with a message board/forum or something or find some other way to get us all to communicate; I'm thinking this will be very silly, a tonne of fun, and a great (if very silly!) tribute to a wonderful artist and friend.

Hello, loves! Just a quick post to say: Happy Birthday to me!! Yaaay!

I'm 21 years old today. All my friends/family are either working or on vacation, so I'm spending the day alone sitting in a cafe with my laptop trying to draw. Haha, I wonder why drawing is so hard? Just coming up with an idea of what to draw is like pulling teeth...

Anyway, I am feeling good, and I'm trying to think of some other ways to celebrate... any ideas?
